Even though it was difficult to watch the legend dismiss all of his hits, and rely almost exclusively on a challenging album that was not even out yet, I knew it was something he had to do. He performed so admirably, and by challenging himself like no other artist before or since, he got back his unshakable coolness. While Elton John was playing his greatest hits with Billy Joel, Bowie was belting out the "hearts filthy lesson" and supporting an album that pushed the boundaries to new limits. Bravo my man.
