this was my first gig ever. I was 19 years old and it completely changed my life. I knew Bowie's hits because I owned Changesbowie on cassette and I had Outside and Earthling on CD. After this gig I became a total fan and I bought all of his 70s albums on vinyl then, and the remastered CDs when they came out in 1999. Bowie became my soundtrack for the coming of age and it was not only a soundtrack but he became a companion. In 2016 I was living in London with my wife for six months and so I was there when he died and I felt as if a limb was taken out of me. We went to Brixton and sang and danced in the street party, I even got photographed by newspapers standing by the Aladdin Sane mural. It hurt to listen to his music after that. Now I am back living in the town I was when I first discovered his music and I have a kid (3 yrs old) and he already knows who Bowie is. A star so massive never dies and its gravity pulls us all into its centre. At the centre of it all, Bowie will remain.
